Pattern Name: Sevens and Nines.
Wall Quilt 48 x 60
Machine
Pieced, Tied
My brother gave me the idea for naming this quilt. He said when he saw the quilt he thought of fish. So then I thought of coral reefs. My grandma (she really is grand!) helped me make this quilt. It took us five days to make it.
Carmelized Red Onions,
by Ginny Leonardos
Pattern Name: Red Onion.
Wall Quilt 51 x 68
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted Quilted
by Laurie LaConte
I made this quilt in a class offered by Cambridge Quilt Shop. The pattern is from the book "Stack a New Deck." I enjoyed using this new method of cutting blocks without a pattern, just use your rotary cutter and slice up some curves.
Dreaming Of The
Beach, by Ginny Leonardos
Pattern Name: Accidental Landscape.
Wall Quilt 20 x 17
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted
I made this quilt after a class with Karen Eckmeier. This type of free form piecing was quite a change from measuring and cutting exact pieces. When I look at this quilt, I can hear the ocean and smell the salty sea air. Summer can't be too far away!
Hot
Tamales, by Phyllis Maddox
Large Quilt 72 x 78
Machine Pieced, Tied
Colorful patterned blocks and half-square triangles make a strong diagonal design. A bee quilt made by Jacqui James, Winnie Getrost, Nancy Wasserman, Monique Cerandolo, Debby Kaden and me.
Baby
Quilt, by Phyllis Maddox
Wall Quilt 40 x 40
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted
A good friend in Italy is having a baby in December. The name will be added when she/he arrives.
Hawaiian Placemats, by
Phyllis Maddox
Other type 18 x 12
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted, Set of six placemats.
The quilting design is based on ancient Hawaiian turtle petroglyphs. We saw some very expensive placemats, similar to these, at a souvenir shop. I mentioned how easy it would be to make such a simple design and offered to make a set for each of the 4 women I was with. By the time I finished the first set, I realized that the shop was asking a fair price.

770SE, by Kathleen McCormick
Pattern Name: Mariner's Compass, Judy Mathieson.
Wall Quilt 31
x 31
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted
Thanks to a workshop with Judy Mathieson I found the perfect use for this black border fabric purchased on a trip to Bermuda. I was thrilled to take a workshop with this master teacher. The black fabric is French (Souleiado) and I only had a little but it worked perfectly in this quilt.

Name, by Delores McCravy
Large Quilt 75 x 91
Hand Pieced, Machine Pieced, Hand
Appliqued, Hand Quilted
Brown was the color chosen by my son for his quilt. After looking through many quilt magazines and books he selected a star block and the alternating block. The border replicates the wallpaper border in his room. He loves the quilt and that's all that matters.
Lovey, by
Delores McCravy
Pattern Name: Sweetheart Star.
Wall Quilt 48 x 48
Hand Pieced, Machine Pieced, Hand
Embroidered, Hand Quilted
This quilt was made from a pattern printed in the 1987 issues of Quilters Newsletter Magazine. The difference is the designs on the heart blocks were embroidered rather than being used as a quilting pattern. It was given to my daughter and Michael in celebration of their marriage on Sept 16.
Happiness, by

Original design.

While I was visiting my neighbor Sue Bennett, I played with colored triangles and came up with this pattern. She taught me how to use the sewing machine, so I made this quilt for my parent's Christmas present last year. I was ten at the time.

Sheer leafy vest, by
Carol Miller
Other type 40 x 27
Machine Appliqued, Machine Embroidered
From a workshop with Ellen Anne Eddy. Randomly couched yarns attached the vest body to stabilizer; then I drew the leaves on the stabilizer and embroidered around them from the wrong side. Angelina fiber flowers completed the fun.
