The day after I participated in a workshop with Sylvia Einstein, I flew to California. I found fabric after fabric which I loved and wanted to incorporate, so the quilt kept on growing. It was as fascinating as a trip to Kyoto had been several years ago.

This wall hanging was created in a year-long Round Robin by the TAM Bee. The center is one section of a multiple printed panel and seemed appropriate for a group effort.

The Thursday a.m. quilting bee (TAMs) did another round robin this past year. The center square (mine) is an adaptation of Diane Hire's "Musical Chairs" from her workshop "Come Play With Me". Contributors to this quilt are: Laurel Bandi, BebeFallick, Muriel Gentile, Marita Hartshorn, Dorothee Kennedy, Kathleen McCormick, and Christine Schwaber.

The Bench

I began this piece at a Ruth McDowell workshop. The design was a bit beyond my piecing ability so I had to resort to applique to get the effect I wanted. On the bench are my mother and the "girls", reflecting on the day and dreaming of the "morrow".

A quilt for my dear friend Pat. Her blue fabric was for a project that never happened. I added coordinating fabrics, hand pieced and quilted the quilt at her house on Thursday evenings "Crafts Nite". Finally! It is finished. I'm glad she didn't buy a bigger bed!

I found a bag of silk floss in a drawer at my cousin's farm in Stamford, Vermont. Most of the small skeins of rainbow hues were manufactured in Connecticut in the 1800s. I felt I was the only member of the family who would use this deposit and that I would try my hand at making a crazy quilt.

Oma's Tatted

My Grandma tatted this collar some years ago. She died at the age of 98 in 1979. I appliqued it to a strips and curves and passed it on to members of our bee. After 9 months it was returned as a beautiful Victorian wall hanging thanks to the creativity of the TAMS (Thursday Morning Bee).
