Made for the 50th wedding anniversary of my younger brother Bob and his wife Sharlene. He was the last of my 6 brothers and sisters to marry, so now all of us have been married 50 or more years. Sharlene wanted lots of colors and Bob prefers brown, so the back is brown.

Amy is renowned for her bold saturated prints. This line is Soul Blossoms and the back is made with flannel from her Love collection.

As an Island Batik ambassador, I was asked to make an original quilt from the new Enchanted Forest collection. The fabric inspired me to look for pictures of purple and green for inspiration. The morning glory keep calling me. Electric Quilt 8 was used to make the mosaic. It was quilted entirely on my new Handi Quilter Simply Sixteen all FMQ. More on kathleenmcmusing.com

I used a fast2cut ruler by Jan Krentz to cut the diamonds. Very slick!

I met my husband in a batik class at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. After meeting we didn't do any more batik, so this large center flower was left in a bag unfinished. Forty years later I finally got inspired to remove the wax and create this quilted garden scene adding other commercial fabrics.

My grandson was interested in a quilt made from Asian style fabrics. I really enjoyed making this quilt, even though the red borders were challenging. It was worth the effort and I am pleased with the outcome. I hand appliquéd the circles, machine pieced everything else, and it is machine quilted.

Our bee decided on making trees for this years challenge. We needed to use three techniques and there were no size requirements. I painted/dyed the sky fabric in a Mickey Lawlor class years ago, appliquéd the tree and used the snippet technique for the leaves.
