Challenge Quilt 19 x 25
Machine Pieced, Hand Appliquéd, Hand Quilted, Fused
Sometimes the fabric is just so beautiful that it does all the work for you. There wasn't much I wanted to add to this glorious print! So I simply made a whole cloth quilt using it as the setting for my bird taking flight.

Pattern Name: Mini variation of the Twilight quilt by Rebecca Bryan .
Challenge Quilt 18 x 18

I've always wanted to be able to teleport, especially when I'm stuck in heavy traffic. Audiobooks and music definitely improve the ride, but wouldn't a quick blink home be fantastic?! Think of the time to quilt you would regain!
The flying geese in this quilt are commuting through rush hour, though they don't seem that bothered.
Hawaiian Vacation, by Cathy Papazian
Original.
Challenge Quilt 25 x 32
Machine Pieced, Hand Appliquéd, Machine Quilted
"I've Always Wanted a Hawaiian Vacation" and this challenge spurred the planning to make the vacation happen. The nine batik squares were found on the guild "free table" and were combined with other leftovers in my scrap stash to evoke the tiki hut scene.
I've Always Wanted to Be a Mermaid, by Nancy Soyring
Third Prize, Challenge Quilts.
Original.
Challenge Quilt 9 x 12
Hand Pieced, Machine Quilted
Growing up on one of the beautiful Finger Lakes in New York, I loved to swim in the dark green-grey water among the seaweeds. Here I am a mysterious, shy mermaid because another thing I've always wanted to be able to do is draw. Mermaid dream is more likely achievable.
Stonehenge, by Bethany Viens

I've always wanted to walk through the stones of Stonehenge
After the Aurora, by Sherry Winkelman

I've always wanted to make a quilt from the leftovers. I've had these leftover blocks and strips stashed away for 20 years. It was time to do something with them.
