I saw this pattern made up and liked the way the "cheater borders" made the blocks stand out. I had left-over Asian fabric then found a great cheater border to pull out the golds. The cranes fly here and there.

Kaffe Fasset fabrics have a way of exploding colors. This quilt started out as a block of the month pattern and then to make it larger I added piano keys and several additional borders . The black strips help to bring out the vibrancy of the colors. The quilting is beautifuly done in multi-colors to go with the quilt fabrics. It looks good from the back.

The quilt was designed from blocks I learned to make in a class I took with Jane Norberg. It started as a single for a grand daughter, but had to grow to a queen when she met her fiance. The border blocks were to keep me interested during the growth process.

Quilt is on loan from Victor Schwartz, Austin, TX, my cousin, an avid soccer fan. I made this quilt for his bar mitzvah. Thanks to a fabric swap with Nancy Soyring and shopping trips, I was able to use a wide assortment of soccer fabrics and incorporate his team's colors, black and white.

This quilt was inspired by Kumiko Sudo and her little stories about the quilts she makes. The beautiful colors and metallic threads in the quilt, with 3 dimensional flowers, are designed to evoke the beauty of butterfly wings. The tale of the quilt is embroidered on a panel on the back.

The luscious ochre/orange Tuscan and Umbrian landscapes inspired me to start a Series. Life took over, and I finished only one of 12 miniature quilts! The round bales of hay captured my imagination. Since my photos did not do them justice, I used a calendar picture as a guide.

I was inspired by the woods of Sunapee, New Hampshire. If you gaze at the sky while in the woods, you would see the colorful leaves and some blue sky. The piecework in the blue border was assembled from the pattern's trimmings.
