This quilt was made from a Block of the Month project at Cambridge Quilt. I enjoyed making a new block each month. Sometimes the blocks did take a month to make, some of the them having as many as 69 pieces to complete. Happy anniversary Nick and Renee!

I saw this pattern on a cold wintry day and knew it was the perfect for dreaming about summer. These colors and pattern lift my spirit! I enjoyed fussy cutting and sewing the hexagons.

Anniversary Quilt

A gift for my sister (and her husband)'s 50th wedding anniversary next August. A trapunto star in the center surrounded by 6 stack and whack stars. The trapunto around the edges is the same pattern as the center star, an adaptation of a quilting pattern by Hari Walner.

This is a benefit quilt which began with a couple yards of the blue fabric with small bones, paw prints and hearts on it. Shopping for the dog theme fabric was a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed piecing the back. I hope the articles in The Canine Chronicle border will make you and the quilt's recipient smile!

Olive Rose is a fabric collection and pattern created by Valori Wells. I originally planned to make the quilt for my niece but as I pieced it I realized it was more to my taste than hers. So I made my niece a traditional Double Irish Chain quilt in lovely 3 Sisters Moda fabrics and Olive Rose stayed with me.

I began this quilt in a Ruth McDowell class in May 2008. Always up for a challenge, I choose a more intricate pattern than one should for a first try at this technique. The results were worth it and it reminds me of a lovely trip we made to Whitby, England.

On first seeing a family picture, my eye was drawn to a Feathered Star quilt used as the background. Based on the approximate age of my husband's father with his grandparents, the picture was taken around 1916. For this quilt a 20" Feathered Star block with a Lemoyne Star center was drafted.

My first attempt at hand appliqué, this orange peel quilt gives optical illusions of X's and O's, or kisses and hugs. I fell in love with Civil War Reproductions, and each of the 252 melons are different fabrics from that line. For Stephen, Always and Forever.

This quilt was inspired by city gardens, with flowers peeking through picket fences, softening the landscape. Fussy cut roses and magnolias make up the centers, and greens used as the fence grids frame the stars of this quilt.

For Christmas, Chris Crouch gave each of the "Sew-a-torium Bee sisters" a charm pack and a different small panel from the Moda line "Attitude Girls." We each made our own quilts from them. This is the quilt I designed and made.
