One of my California granddaughters asked for a quilt with pink and blue and purple and green. I decided that the back and binding needed to be white - if she doesn't like the front, she can just turn it over!
I first did this pattern many years ago in a workshop with Kathleen Mullendore and have made it in a variety of holiday themes.

This quilt was inspired by my love of color and batiks. The hand piecing (slow and accurate) of the Lemoyne Star and paper piecing (fast and easy ?) of the curved checkerboard was challenging. I love it when the fabric compliments the pattern.

I am 8 and 3/4 years old. I made this pillow for my mom and she really loved it. I made it with fabric markers and stuffing. I put this pretty turquoise green for the border of my pillow and it was really really pretty once it was done. It was for Mother's Day.

This is the quilt from which I developed an idea for my latest work, titled 'Beyond Inner Space,' that I submitted to IMAGES 2010 in Lowell, MA. This earlier one was made without any intention at first during a piecing lesson of irregular curves and points. This one can be hung upside-down.
