I was given a number of Japanese flowered fat-quarters for a Christmas present a number of years ago. After creating a background of zigs and zags, the circles seem to blend right in.

The idea for this quilt came from the Block-of-the-Month at Quilter's Way. Each month was a star pattern. plus if you chose the bonus block - a great finished project - almost. I just had to add a border and a back and have it quilted.

Made for a log cabin in the Chilean Andes, this quilt has extra loft batting. Buttons from my antique button collection fit nicely at the center of the squares.

This quilt was a challenge with the title of Hard Times, and the black material had to be used as a flange.
What could be more difficult for a bird - surrounded by cats and horses with little food available?
I only used material from my stash and bought nothing new.

I collected the fabric for this quilt during my vacation to Alaska in the summer of 2009. We saw all the wildlife portrayed in this quilt during our vacation, including the beautiful pink flowers called fireweed. At home, I looked for a pattern to showcase the large prints and found Honeycomb by Lisa Moore online.

My husband likes designs using Japanese Quilt Blocks so when he retired his old ties, it seemed only fitting that I turn them into an appropriate gift to celebrate his retirement. I included a piece of an old silk blouse in one of the blocks to keep the ties company.

This quilt was done as part of a class with Jennie Rayment. Folded fabric squares and pieces create interest instead of traditionally pieced blocks. Instead of her traditional "calico" or muslin, a variegated hand-dyed fabric was used.

It incorporates machine embroidery, heirloom stitching, appliqué, thread painting, "stitch building",crazy patch, strip weaving, creation of decorative trims, and machine piecing. It requires no pre-cutting of pieces and is "quilt as you go". Fun to do!

I was inspired by Ricky Tims to create this wall hanging with his optical illusions effects for the sunrise/sunset theme. Please enjoy the vintage patterns on the fabric.

I made this quilt for Rebecca, my American Girl Doll. I picked Jewish holiday fabric because my doll is the only American Girl Doll that is Jewish. I made it in two days and did everything by myself except cut the fabric. I was eight in September.

Each member of our bee, the Sew-a-torium Sisters, received a charm pack of Moda's "Attitude Girls" and a small panel. Our challenge was simply to use these in a small quilt. Always fun to see each other's creativity!
