Kaleidescopes is a Maxine Rosenthal pattern found in her One Block Wonders book. It was great fun to see how the original fabric was transformed into colorful patterns each with it's own movement and personality. A sample of the original fabric is in the picture.

Several of these kimono squares were the very first quilting projects I ever did. I started and stopped so many times. The inspiration to finally finish came from my Quilt Bee, and from finding the central panels and realizing I could have two quilts.

Four  Hawaiian Wreaths

This quilt was started an many years ago in my first appliqué class at Cambridge Quilt Shop. I went on to make three more wreaths. The traditional shadow quilting was onerous and was responsible for the length of time it took me to finish. Note the difference in quilt stitch length among the four wreaths!

Hexagon "flowers" were appliquéd vertically onto similar and complementary colored strips. Fabric glue helped solve the challenge of attaching the top to the batt and back.

This classic double wedding ring quilt was made for my sister who has always been my best friend. She and I had lots of fun shopping for fabric reminiscent of the 1930s. The quilt was machine pieced. Laurie LaConte did the beautiful machine quilting.

Still life pictures were always my favorite. After seeing a very impressive picture this passing winter I decided to design one for myself. I was careful to include birds, fruits and flowers but wanted to retain a contemporary feel. I achieved it by using free style quilting incorporating leaves on the lower part of the quilt.
